A dust collection system is used most commonly in an industrial, commercial or home production shop to improve the air quality in the working environment. It will improve the breathable air and increase safety by removing particles from the air and environment. Through sheet metal fabrication we have constructed dust collection systems for various companies in Ohio. They can greatly improve work place conditions when used and set up properly. Let’s take a look at how they work.
The basic three step process of capture, convey and collect is the foundation of a dust collection system.
Capture- using various devices within the work space, like a capture hood, the dust and particles are captured at its source of origin. In some cases, the machine itself may have a capturing feature and a duct can be directly attached.
Conveyed – This is where we really step in and make a difference. A ducting system needs to be properly fabricated and sized to keep constant airflow and velocity of the dust and particles moving. A duct of the wrong size can lead to material settling in the duct system and clogging it. Our custom fabrication and expertise will ensure a proper system is set up with the right size.
Collection- Depending on what type of application, size and dust captured and conveyed, the collection will fall into variety of means. There are multiple ways of collecting dust, some simpler than others. It will depend on usability, functionality and budget when setting it up.
Without a dust collection system in a work space, chronic breathing problems, and health risks as serious as cancer can result. If you don’t have one already, give us a call and we can custom fabricate a dust collection system for you.
Great post on the process of dust collection. What industries is your company focused on?
Looking forward to hearing more about your dust collection systems.
